My Name is Mark Benner and I'm running for the U.S. Senate. I am running on issues which are crucial to changing the course this nation has taken. We can no longer count on politics as usual to produce the significant changes we need.

"We spend time and energy addressing the symptoms of our problems but seldom seek to understand and address the root causes of our problems. This is an expensive proposition and it is pervasive from social issues to foreign policy. In order to create significant change we must alter our approach and seek to understand and address the issues by solving the root cause of our problems."

I believe our discussion of fixing our failing health care system should be about expanding access to health care and improving the delivery of health care, not about mandating the purchase of health insurance and subsidizing the for profit insurance industry. I support truly Universal Single Payer Health Care.

I believe we must restore our constitution, and become a nation which leads the world in supporting civil and human rights. I believe our current administration needs to be held accountable for its corruption and crimes.

I believe we must support sustainable policies including clean and renewable energy sources and fair trade agreements which have enforceable mechanisms for creating labor rights, environmental standards, and social and economic justice.

I will work to create change which supports sustainable policies and government which works for people and not against them. Please contact me if you are interested in helping. I will be posting more information about my positions on specific issues soon.
